Since 1948, Alta Bates Summit Medical Center (ABSMC) has filled a vital need in our community for compassionate, effective treatment of mental illness and chemical dependency. ABSMC is launching Phase I of a Behavioral Health Fundraising Campaign with an overall goal of improving the experience of adolescent patients and expanding access to expert specialty behavioral health services for underserved patients. The campaign will support:
- Improved inpatient and outpatient behavioral health care for adolescents and adults.
- Enhanced outpatient care for patients with chemical dependency, particularly for patients with opioid addiction.
In a single year, thousands of adolescent and adult patients from across the East Bay and Northern California rely on ABSMC for expert treatment to address a range of mental health conditions, including eating disorders, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, bipolar disorder and acute psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia. ABSMC is also home to Northern California’s only hospital-based addiction treatment program, offering inpatient and outpatient care for patients struggling with addiction to alcohol and drugs.
