The California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute brings clinicians and researchers together to discover improved treatments and diagnostic technologies.
Over 80 principal investigators lead innovative research in cancer, aging, arthritis, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, epilepsy, infectious diseases, drug addiction, neurobiology of pain, neurodegenerative diseases and osteoporosis.
Our clinical and translational scientists merge research institute interests with the needs of CPMC’s medical center, making research an integral foundation for improved patient care. Because of this expertise, peer institutes are learning from and partnering with our investigators in national and international studies and programs.
For example, a variety of large national cohort studies are conducted via the San Francisco Coordinating Center, placing the California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute at the forefront of research into longevity and many common illnesses.
In addition, over 350 clinical trials initiated through the Office of Clinical Research offer patients access to an extensive portfolio of studies potentially suited to their particular health concerns.
Many of these initiatives and advances are made possible by grants from the National Institutes of Health, and non-profit foundations and associations. We are grateful for this support.
