Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital's neonatal transport service is designed to facilitate efficient access for our tiniest patients to appropriate levels of care, including our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and high-risk obstetrics program.
As the only Level III NICU in the Northern California community, our doctors and neonatal specialists provide around the clock, life-saving care for premature babies or those born with serious health issues. Referring hospitals and physicians know they can rely on our expert team to provide specialty acute care services when and where they’re needed.
Our neonatal transport team is made up of a neonatologist, NICU transport nurse, paramedic and a pilot or emergency medical technician ambulance driver. Patients may be transported by plane, helicopter or ground ambulance, depending on the patient's needs and local weather patterns. In order to ensure a timely response, we offer 24-hour clinical consultation support for smaller hospitals in the North Bay.
