Mills-Peninsula Medical Center offers a variety of comprehensive pediatric therapy programs designed to give children the best start possible. Our pediatric rehabilitation programs treat children from infancy through early adolescence who have mild to severe difficulties associated with physical or developmental disabilities.

Fitting In

A social group for children and adolescents taught by a speech therapist, this program promotes age-appropriate pragmatic skills in a small group setting. Classes are small for optimal student to teacher ratio and goals are designed to promote individual needs. Children will learn social skills such as introductions, greetings, making friends, finding things in common, teamwork, taking turns, eye contact and social problem solving.

Building Blocks

This class helps children build language skills, develop body movement awareness, make new friends, explore their senses, use their hands, build confidence and learn shapes, colors and places. The class includes circle time with language, movement and music, gym play for swinging, climbing and jumping and hands-on art projects. Children also practice eating, dressing and going to the bathroom by themselves.
