Recovering from a stroke takes time and effort. Alta Bates Summit Medical Center's team of stroke rehabilitation specialists use a hands-on approach and individualized treatment programs to teach patients and family members the techniques necessary to restore daily function and improve overall health.
After your acute medical needs are met in the hospital, your stroke recovery continues in our Regional Acute Rehabilitation Center. Our highly structured, intensive, interdisciplinary program treats people who have a wide range of rehabilitation needs following a stroke.
Your treatment team consists of physiatrists; certified rehabilitation nurses; physical, occupational, speech and recreational therapists, and neuropsychologists. You and your family will receive ongoing education and support to maximize your recovery and help prevent the reoccurrence of stroke.
