If your child has new mental-health concerns or issues that are not already being treated by a mental health professional, ask your primary care provider about Healthy Young Minds (HYM) at PAMF.
HYM provides mental and emotional health assessments, education and therapeutic interventions with a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) for one to five office visits, either in person or by video. Social workers are located within most pediatricians’ offices to coordinate care.
The goals of these visits are to:
- Assess and understand your child’s issues.
- Make short-term recommendations to begin addressing these issues.
- Connect and refer you and your child to appropriate ongoing therapists or community resources as needed.
The program is not meant to provide therapy and is not intended for urgent psychological issues or crises.
After your primary care doctor makes a referral to HYM, you’ll receive a call from a HYM team member to review insurance benefits, set your first appointment and answer any questions.
