California Pacific Medical Center provides compassionate and comprehensive family-centered care for critically ill and injured children in our eight-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

CPMC’s pediatric critical care doctors are assisted by a wide range of dedicated pediatric subspecialists, including a group of attending-level pediatric hospitalists who are present in the hospital 24 hours a day.

The critical care team includes doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, dietitians, rehabilitation specialists and other healthcare professionals trained in caring for critically ill and injured children. All work together in close partnership with our young patients and their families to coordinate a care plan designed to offer the best outcomes.

Referring physicians receive regular updates on the progress of their patients.

A doctor-led critical care transport team rapidly brings acutely ill or injured children to CPMC by ground ambulance or by air from throughout Northern California.
