When you have a serious health condition, receiving support and encouragement from others who’ve been there can make the journey feel easier and less lonely. When you join a support group, you’ll meet other people who know what it’s like to be in your shoes and can offer insight about what may be ahead.
You don’t have to be a current Sutter patient to participate in our support groups—many are free and open to the community. Our goal is to create an environment where you’ll receive comfort and encouragement.
Support Groups for Your Condition
Memorial Medical Center offers support groups for people who have a new diagnosis or are dealing with managing a chronic medical condition, including diabetes and breast cancer. These groups meet on a regular basis and allow you to form a community with other people facing similar challenges.
Support Groups for Families and Caregivers
When a family member deals with a serious illness, it impacts the lives of everyone around them.
We provide support groups for both adults and young people who experience the loss of a loved one.
Support Groups for Parents
Whether you’re having your first child or you want insight from other parents, you might benefit from a parenting support group.
Our educational programs and support groups create a sense of community between new and expectant parents. Educational classes offered at Memorial include Childbirth Preparation and Breastfeeding 101. We also have a Mommy and Me support group free to all new mothers and babies.
