When you have a serious health condition, receiving support and encouragement from others who’ve been there can make the journey feel easier and less lonely. When you join a support group, you’ll meet other people who know what it’s like to be in your shoes and can offer insight about what may be ahead.
You don’t have to be a current Mills-Peninsula or Sutter patient to participate in our support groups—many are free and open to the community. Our goal is to create an environment where you’ll receive comfort and encouragement.
Support Groups for Your Condition
We offer support groups for a wide range of conditions— from arthritis and fibromyalgia to aphasia. We offer support groups for diabetes, osteoporosis and people who have had an ostomy or related surgery, such as bladder or bowel diversions. We also offer support groups for prostate cancer. These groups meet on a regular basis and allow you to form a community with other people facing similar challenges.
Support Groups for Families and Caregivers
When a family member deals with a serious illness or death in the family, it impacts the lives of everyone around them. We offer support groups for family members and caregivers who experience the loss of a loved one.
