Controlling your blood sugar is key to preventing the serious complications that can arise from diabetes. At Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, we provide the information and support you need to manage your blood glucose throughout the day.
Educational Opportunities
We offer a diabetes self-management program, insulin management program and insulin pump program to help you control your diabetes. Our popular Living Well With Diabetes program offers healthful eating, exercise, self-monitoring and medication guidance over the course of four classes.
Individual and group classes are available. Our classes are covered by Medicare, Medi-Cal and most private insurance companies. Family members are welcome to attend all educational programs for free. Valet parking is provided at no cost to you at our facility.
Free Monthly Support Groups
Our program offers a supportive community for those diagnosed with diabetes. Our support groups are led by a licensed clinical social worker who is also a certified diabetes educator. Each month, the group discusses a different topic.
For more information or to find out about our current class and support group schedules, please call our diabetes center at (510) 204-1081.
