Music has an extraordinary power to bring comfort and peace. Recent clinical studies show that therapeutic music provides evidence-based beneficial effects on hospital patients. Therapeutic music also decreases sedation needs for pediatric procedures, alleviates pain in conjunction with anesthesia or pain medication, elevate patients’ moods and counteracts depression, promotes movement for physical rehabilitation; among other healing benefits.
At Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital, music therapists soothe patients at their bedsides with music. Therapists visit many areas of the hospital, including the Infusion Center with the intention of bringing comfort to patients struggling with pain. Beyond the measurable numbers, our service adds comfort and dignity to a stressful time in people’s lives. We are often asked to provide healing music in the rooms of terminally ill patients to create an atmosphere of serenity and calm for the patient and the family members.
Your gift to the Therapeutic Music Program at Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital Foundation will provide comfort, a life-affirming perspective and welcome distractions from depression, anxiety or pain.
