If you are looking for a way to give back to your community, you already have the special skills you need to become a hospice volunteer at Sutter Care at Home. The greatest gift you can offer is your time, your caring nature and your willingness to listen.

Volunteers are an important part of our team of nurses, social workers, home health aides and chaplains who provide compassionate care for our hospice patients and help ease their family’s stress and exhaustion. If you are bilingual, your services will provide an extra measure of comfort and ease for those whose language you speak.

Sutter Care at Home provides training and ongoing support to all volunteers, so prior experience is not required.

Ways You Can Help

Volunteers give family members a much-needed break, taking on simple tasks such as running errands, reading to people receiving care, writing letters and listening to their stories. Depending on your background and abilities, you might help out with:
