If you are not experiencing a life-threatening emergency, but need immediate and urgent medical attention, visit Sutter Medical Center’s emergency room in downtown Sacramento. Our team of emergency medicine specialists provides life-saving care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Emergency Department at Ose Adams Medical Pavilion includes 54 beds, all fully equipped for critically ill patients. The beds feature state-of-the-art monitoring equipment and convenient access to imaging and other ancillary services. We also offer pediatric emergency services with a separate waiting area and nurses and physicians specially trained in caring for children.

In addition, we’re designated as a Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission. This is the first advanced-level certification program designed to recognize primary stroke centers that make exceptional efforts to foster better outcomes for stroke patients.

Emergency room visits should be reserved for true emergencies, such as life-threatening accidents or chest pain. A visit to the emergency room without an actual emergency can be costly and inefficient, and detract medical care from individuals who truly need it. In some cases, a visit to an urgent care center may be more suitable.
