Lymphedema Therapy
Cancer treatments such as lymph-node radiation may cause lymph fluid building and swelling, known as lymphedema.
Although lymphedema is a chronic condition, symptoms can be reduced and well-controlled with the proper care.
Through specialized physical and occupational therapy, Eden’s certified lymphedema therapists can help you learn how to manage your symptoms. Treatment involves comprehensive decongestive therapy, including a combination of lymphatic drainage massage, compression therapy and therapeutic exercise. Lymphatic drainage massage is especially helpful in moving lymph fluid away from the obstructed area toward functioning lymph nodes. As part of your lymphedema therapy, we emphasize your independence with self-management.
After receiving a doctor’s referral for lymphedema management occupational therapy, schedule an evaluation with one of our therapists.
