CPRRC is a hospital-based, inpatient acute rehabilitation unit in San Francisco, California. Our facility is housed within the Davies Campus of California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC). CPMC is a tertiary hospital and the Davies Campus is home to CPMC’s Neuroscience Institute. CPMC is an affiliate of Sutter Health.
The unit occupies two floors of the main hospital and has a total of 42 private rooms, each with an adjacent, accessible bathroom.
Our programs specialize in treating adults 18 and older with complex medical conditions, including:
Medical Director Stephen Ng, M.D., oversees all programs.
Programs at CPRRC are tailored to meet the physical, psychological and cultural needs of each patient. Services are provided by an interdisciplinary team under the direction of a specialized rehabilitation physician.
In addition, all patients are seen by an internal medicine physician and receive 24-hour rehabilitation nursing care. Patients participate in a minimum of three hours of therapy a day (physical therapy, occupational therapy and/or speech-language pathology), at least five days per week.

Our specialty programs undergo rigorous evaluation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) every three years, and we have maintained multiple accreditations for decades.

Referral sources include, but are not limited to, acute care medical facilities/hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, third party payers, physicians, case managers and family members.

California Pacific Regional Rehabilitation Center is contracted with Medicare, MediCal, most commercial payors, Medicare Advantage and many Worker’s Compensation Groups.
Our admissions staff will confirm your insurance benefit and coverage before you are admitted to our rehabilitation unit. If your insurance requires preauthorization, this will be taken care of by the admission coordinator. In addition, your admission coordinator will provide you with a complete explanation of covered benefits and your financial liability (if any) before admission.
A glassed in, centrally located staff center promotes communication while maintaining privacy and controlling noise on the unit.
Patient rooms are bright and private with attached fully accessible bathrooms.
The ADL Kitchen provides a therapeutic space for patients to work on meal prep and related skills before returning home.
The Activity Rooms offer space for group activities, therapy, family gatherings or a space to sit and take in the view of the City.
These small studio apartments on each floor provide patients and family a more “real life” living experience before going home.
The Terrain Park is a secured outdoor space where patients experience the challenges of the community in a safe, controlled setting.
