Specialists at Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation work closely with California Pacific's Neuromuscular Disease Program to provide advanced diagnostic and therapeutic intervention for all conditions affecting the nerves and muscles. We care for people with rare and challenging diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), muscular dystrophy, acute and chronic neuropathy, myopathy and nerve injuries. Forbes Norris MDA/ALS Research and Treatment Center
The Forbes Norris MDA/ALS Research and Treatment Center is one of the largest ALS clinical centers dedicated to ALS research in the United States. It is recognized as a Center of Excellence by both the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the ALS Association. On site basic research studies allow the center the uniquely advantaged position of directly applying new laboratory findings to clinical use for immediate testing in neuromuscular disease patients.

Physicians Leaders
The director of California Pacific's Neuromuscular Disease Program, Jonathan Katz, M.D., is a recognized leader in treating neuromuscular diseases. Dr. Katz has published most extensively in the area of inflammatory neuropathies, as well as other conditions. Dr. Katz works collaboratively with Robert Miller, M.D., the chair of neurology at California Pacific Medical Center and the director of the Forbes Norris ALS Center. Dr. Miller is a foremost expert in ALS and other neuromuscular diseases.
