Our neuromuscular program at the Forbes Norris MDA/ALS Research and Treatment Center provides advanced diagnostic and therapeutic intervention for all conditions affecting the nerves and muscles. We care for people with rare and challenging diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), muscular dystrophy, acute and chronic neuropathy, myopathy and nerve injuries. In addition, we have extensive experience with disorders such as peripheral neuropathies, radiculopathies and compressive neuropathies such as carpal tunnel, ulnar neuropathy and neck and back disorders.
The Forbes Norris MDA/ALS Research and Treatment Center is one of the largest ALS clinical centers dedicated to research in the United States. It is recognized as a Center of Excellence by both the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the ALS Association.
Our Experienced Team
Our experienced multidisciplinary team is committed to providing comprehensive care and management for all aspects of neuromuscular conditions. The treatment team includes board certified neuromuscular neurologists, clinic nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, respiratory therapists, speech therapists, dietitians, social workers and research nurses.
Diagnostic and Treatment Options
Our experts use state-of-the-art techniques, imaging equipment, nerve and muscle pathology and electro-diagnostic testing to provide a definitive diagnosis of your condition. We provide a full range of treatment options, from medication and pain management services to advanced treatments such as baclofen pump insertion, botulinum toxin therapy (Botox) and microvascular decompression surgery.
Research Studies
On-site basic research studies allow the center the uniquely advantaged position of directly applying new laboratory findings to clinical use for immediate testing in neuromuscular disease patients.
