In the Sutter Health network, we’ve made stroke and neurovascular care a top priority. Our comprehensive Stroke Care Centers provide nationally recognized neurovascular and neurocritical care and rehabilitation, and we’re at the forefront of clinical care and research. When necessary, Sutter Coast Hospital transfers stroke patients to the certified Comprehensive Stroke Care Center at California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) in San Francisco.
We’re proud to offer:
- 13 Primary Stroke Centers awarded Certificates of Distinction from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association and the Joint Commission.
- A Telestroke Program that serves smaller and more rural hospitals. Telestroke uses video teleconferencing to connect local doctors with leading stroke care specialists based at the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. The program also facilitates fast transport for patients who need services that are not available locally.
- Advanced stroke rehabilitation, including three acute inpatient rehabilitation centers accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities for stroke specialty programs.
