Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento, has designed a multidisciplinary clinic that combines the efforts of referring physicians, cardiologists, interventionalists and surgeons who work as a team to provide focused assessments and treatment options for people with heart disease.
Our Valvular and Structural Heart Disease Clinic oversees more than 200 valve procedures each year. Designed with our patients in mind, the clinic helps you navigate the care process by assigning a coordinator to walk you through each step of treatment. Our heart care program has been nationally recognized and named among the best by organizations such as the American Heart Association and Truven Health Analytics.
Superior Imaging Technology
Innovative technology allows us more visibility to diagnose heart problems quickly and more efficiently. Technology like the biplane angiogram system offers the ability to view the structure of the heart on two different planes, or angles, for enhanced accuracy. The 3-D transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) provides highly detailed images of the valves and chambers, as well as the pumping action of your moving heart.
Minimally Invasive Procedures
Through multidisciplinary collaboration of many cardiovascular specialties, in conjunction with a high-tech hybrid catheterization lab, our valve clinic has perfected minimally invasive procedures like Transcatheter Mitral Valve Repair (TMVR) with MitraClip, which treats degenerative mitral regurgitation patients, and Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), which is used to treat patients suffering from severe aortic stenosis.
