Giving you the tools you need to improve your health describes the heart of Sutter’s classes and events. We offer educational opportunities throughout our network to address vital health concerns and empower you to take an active role in managing your health.
Classes, Lectures and More
As your health education partner, we offer interactive courses led by experts in their fields who share news and information in a way that’s easy to understand. Classes, lectures and workshops cover a wide range of topics, including aging, alternative medicine, disease management, fitness, mental health and stress, men’s health, weight loss and pregnancy.
Depending on your personal health and wellness goals, you may choose to take multiple classes on a broad topic—such as women’s health—or to sign up for a variety of workshops and lectures that each focus on a different health issue.
Remember, each session of every course and program differs slightly depending on the concerns and questions you and other attendees raise.
Community Events
Throughout the year, Sutter Health hosts and participates in several community events that encourage healthy living. These free events include:
- Community Flu Shot Clinics
- Community Health and Wellness Fairs
- Open Enrollment Fairs
We also partner with national and international organizations to raise awareness of important health concerns. We have a longstanding relationship with the American Heart Association and participate in many Go Red activities in February.
Many Sutter Health events have become annual traditions within their communities. For example, the informative Women’s Health Luncheon and Lecture, hosted by Mills-Peninsula Medical Center since 2001, sells out every year; and Catwalk for a Cure, a Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation annual event since 2002, rallies community support for cancer screening and services.
