As with any ongoing effort, diabetes self-management can be challenging. By connecting with others who understand the ups and downs of life with diabetes, the challenges become easier.
That’s why Sutter care centers have various support opportunities to help you manage dietary change, exercise, weight loss and glucose monitoring.
Across the Sutter Health network, we offer support groups for individuals and families living with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Often led by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or certified diabetes educator, these groups discuss topics such as managing sugar in your diet, understanding medications and lab tests, considering alternative treatments, and enjoying holiday and restaurant eating. In addition to connecting with others living with your condition, the group setting provides a safe and supportive environment to discuss your questions and concerns.
