Our cancer care teams are dedicated to providing top-notch treatment planning, advanced radiation therapy procedures and follow-up appointments to measure your body’s response to treatment. Outpatient services are provided at seven freestanding radiation oncology centers in Auburn, Cameron Park, Roseville, Sacramento, Vacaville and Vallejo.
Radiation therapy options include external beam therapy, which uses a high-energy linear accelerator to direct radiation to your tumor or other cancerous tissue. A variety of technologies are used to shape the treatment beam, including 3D conformal therapy, image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), tomotherapy and volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT).
Proton beam radiation therapy, intraoperative radiotherapy, brachytherapy and advanced Gamma Knife treatment are also viable radiation therapy options. For aggressive brain cancer, a wearable Optune™ device can be used in combination with chemotherapy to kill cancer cells. Some forms of lymphoma may be treated by using radiolabeled antibody therapy.
