Sutter Center for Psychiatry offers multiple types of outpatient programs with more intensity and frequency than typical outpatient therapy. Our voluntary programs follow a recovery model approach to care and are available to adolescents (age 13 to 17) and adults (age 18 and older).
Intensive Outpatient Services provided by Sutter Center for Psychiatry help empower individuals to identify and build on their strengths, encouraging people to develop a better understanding of their current symptoms and stressors. Both Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) skills are provided.
Our services are designed to target symptoms that may be impacting day-to-day life, primarily through interventions and group therapy.
Our services can assist with symptom reduction in patients with anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and co-occuring disorders (both substance abuse and mental health needs).
Our comprehensive clinical team includes psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, licensed marriage family therapists and licensed nurses.
The program is available for children, adolescents and adults. This voluntary group-based program is ideal for individuals seeking mental health services that occur at a more frequent and intense level than typical outpatient therapy. Admission to this program may be directly from the community or as a step-down service from an inpatient hospitalization.
