Bob and Del Colby embraced life. They were world travelers, taking a total of 33 cruises in their lifetimes. They had an optimistic perspective on life, great senses of humor, enjoyed being around people, and loved their family.
Bob and Del Colby felt their lives were blessed and they shared their good fortune by helping others, including Sutter Davis Hospital. The Colbys were happy to know their gifts to Sutter Davis Hospital allowed the hospital to purchase life-saving equipment, renovate existing facilities, and build new ones to expand services.
“Del and Bob felt like they had an obligation to help others and a sense that it was the right thing to do,” says Deborah Dunham, family friend. “The Colbys were grateful patients of Sutter Davis and deeply cared about the hospital. Our community, the hospital, and my husband and I all benefited from their kindness and generosity.”
After attending a donor appreciation event in the early 1990s, the Colbys added Sutter Davis Hospital to their will. Indeed, Bob and Del Colby will not be forgotten. They will be remembered in the Davis community for their love of life and care for people. And through their estate gift to Sutter Davis Hospital, they will continue to improve the quality of life for the Davis community for years to come.
