Personal Interests
Dr. Church lives and works in the Bay Area with her husband and their two sons. She loves to jog and listen to podcasts. A competitive hula dancer in high school, she also still loves to dance.
Philosophy of Care
Dr. Kacy Church was born and raised in Honolulu and received her MD from the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii. She completed her internal medicine residency at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland before practicing as a general internist in the area for a year. While in medical school, she always knew that she wanted to pursue a career in endocrinology because she felt the specialty allows for great healthy change through patient empowerment. Physicians provide the framework for diabetes care, but patients are ultimately the ones who have to follow those guidelines. She completed her fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism in 2017 at Stanford University in California.
Dr. Church practices general endocrinology and has a strong interest in inpatient and outpatient diabetes management. During medical school she evaluated the use of cell phone technology in managing diabetes in pregnancy, and over the past several years she's worked with multiple surgical and nonsurgical specialists treating diabetes to standardize inpatient diabetes care.
