Established to serve the needs of the growing Westside community in Merced County, Memorial Hospital Los Banos opened its doors on Sept. 5, 1967. Today, Memorial Hospital Los Banos is accredited by The Joint Commission and operates as a non-profit, general care medical center with 40 beds and 26 active physicians on staff.
Growing with the Westside for More Than 40 Years
Over our 50 year history, Memorial Hospital Los Banos has achieved several milestones. In 1993, the facility opened a helipad service, and, in 2002, a portable MRI was added to meet the growing needs of Los Banos and the surrounding areas in 2002. In 2006, we remodeled and expanded our Rural Health Clinic, offering quality care for your family, including specialized services such as urology; gynecology; surgical; ear, nose and throat; nutrition and respiratory therapy. Then, in 2016, we moved the Rural Health Clinic location to expand our surgical capabilities to nine operating rooms instead of four.
Our hospital is affiliated with Sutter Health, a not-for-profit organization that exists to maintain and improve the health status of citizens in its geographic area. In May 1996, the Memorial Hospitals Association affiliated with Sutter Health. Since then, Memorial Hospital Los Banos has benefited from the affiliation by enjoying reduced operating expenses and stronger contractual relationships with health insurance plans.
Rising to the needs of the growing community of Los Banos and surrounding areas, Memorial Hospital Los Banos continues to expand its services to meet the healthcare needs in our community.
