Volunteering Opportunities
Volunteering with the Sutter Davis Hospital Auxiliary is fun and rewarding, and it’s a way to make a difference in someone’s life. The areas of service for Auxiliary volunteers (minimum of two 4-hour shifts per month) include:
- Emergency Department
- Gift Shop
- Surgery Center
- Other departments, as needed
We look forward to receiving your application and interviewing you for membership in the Sutter Davis Hospital Auxiliary.
Benefits of Volunteering
"There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up." — John Andrew Holmes
Volunteering is a wonderful gift that can be given to patients and the community. Volunteers meet people, make new friends, use their skills, and acquire new ones. They feel a sense of accomplishment and perhaps the most important benefit is satisfaction of knowing they are contributing to their community and making a difference.
Become a Volunteer
Prospective volunteers must complete an application form, pass a background check and obtain a health clearance. Applicants interview individually with the Membership Coordinator. Volunteers are placed in specific work areas of their choosing and are given regularly scheduled shifts, based on their availability each month. Volunteers are expected to work their assigned shifts and can be dismissed for excessive absenteeism.
Our service-based programs help meet the needs of patients, families and staff. Our services are not a job-training program or an internship, nor do we provide medical shadowing. We do not accept court-ordered placements.
