Dr. Harris specializes in pediatric, adolescent and college age sports medicine (non surgical) in the Sports Medicine department of PAMF. Her specific professional interests include the prevention and treatment of sports related injuries in children and adolescents, injuries unique to female athletes, developmental issues regarding intensive training of young athletes, overuse injuries, sport specific injury prevention and treatment, and the role of exercise in health and disease prevention.
Dr. Harris instructs medical students and pediatric residents at Stanford in her sports medicine clinic on a weekly basis. Her memberships include being a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. She is the founder and former chairperson of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Council on Sports Medicine.

Dr. Harris is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area, and the mother of two athletic boys. Her personal interests include travel and outdoor recreational activities and sports, including swimming, cycling, running, hiking, back packing, kayaking, skiing, windsurfing, scuba diving and tennis.
