Get a healthy dose of seasonal fruit in a nostalgic treat that is easy to make at home. Tips:
- Get the kids involved for a fun and tasty adventure!
- Choose slightly over-ripe fruit for a sweeter and more intense flavor.
- Additions: Add honey or maple syrup to help break up the ice crystals so your popsicles are not too icy. Fat and protein like whole-milk Greek yogurt or canned coconut milk also gives a delicious creamy flavor and texture.
- Choosing your molds: Use basically anything in your kitchen such as muffin pans, cups, ice-cube trays or shot glasses, or find some fun molds online.
- Mind the gap! Leave room at the top for expansion.
- Freeze time: It depends on your freezer and the chosen ingredients – anywhere from 4-8 hours.
- Run warm water over the mold to loosen.
- Blend or mix the ingredients. For added texture stir in finely chopped fruit.
