Generous donors set Mills-Peninsula apart by investing in Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) and bringing advanced 3D mammography technology to our community. The results have been stunning, lowering the “false positive” call back rates by 40 percent and increasing the detection rate of early stage cancers.
Help the Mills-Peninsula Women’s Center continue to offer the best possible care for every breast cancer patient by supporting the advancement of these three key program areas:
- Advanced ultrasound technology for the Women’s Center. Screening breast ultrasound is a very effective supplemental imaging technology that is not only safe but increases breast cancer detection in women with dense breast tissue.
- LEAN analysis to transform the patient experience. Ensure coordinated care and provide seamless transitions for patients as they move through the many stages of cancer treatment. Developed by Toyota, LEAN has been applied by healthcare providers nationwide to reduce wait times, improve workflow and enhance safety.
- Long-term patient outcomes research and analysis. Results can identify additional best practices in treatment, more targeted therapies, reduced risk of recurrence in survivors and analysis of Mills-Peninsula performance against national benchmarks.
