Mission Bernal Campus opened August 2018
Sutter Health's CPMC has opened two new smart, safe and green campuses, catalyzed by California state mandate requiring hospitals to meet stricter earthquake safety standards by 2020. The former St. Luke’s Campus is now the Mission Bernal Campus at Valencia and Cesar Chavez streets — which opened on August 25, 2018. The brand new Van Ness Campus opened on March 2, 2019.
Mission Bernal embodies the best of CPMC: the intimacy of a community hospital combined with the resources and expertise of an academic medical center. Among the ways it will transform healthcare in our community are:
- Expanded Emergency Department — The spacious new ED has 16 private treatment rooms, including two specifically designed for pediatric emergency care.
- Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) — The 34-bed ACE unit is one of the few in the city focused on helping our oldest patients in need of acute care, with an emphasis on keeping the body and the mind healthy.
