Patient satisfaction is a high priority and an important measure of quality at Sutter Solano Medical Center. Results from patient satisfaction surveys compare the hospital's performance to other hospitals across the nation. The hospital's goal is to provide the highest level of quality healthcare and to meet or exceed patient expectations.
How Is Patient Satisfaction Measured?
Sutter Solano Medical Center contracts with an independent, private market research company to conduct a mail survey of discharged inpatients. A similar survey is mailed to patients discharged from the Emergency Department and Outpatient Ambulatory Services. Patients are asked to rate services on a scale of 1 (very poor) to 5 (very good).
What Happens to the Survey Results?
Survey results are sent to the hospital and posted in each unit. In addition to the hospital's overall score, the report also scores the following:
- Dietary
- Environmental Services
- Laboratory
- Nursing
- Patient Registration
- Physicians
- Radiology
- Rehabilitation Services
The hospital's staff members and physicians play an important role in providing patients with the highest level of quality healthcare. The results provide input and feedback for areas of opportunity.
