My philosophy of care includes providing the best personal service to my patients in an open-minded, timely and approachable manner. I believe that one of the best things a doctor can do is to educate patients about health and chronic diseases and how to make them feel empowered and in control of their health. I feel that medicine is an art. There may not always be one right answer. Often, there can be multiple ways to treat and manage a person's life and illness, to fit according to each patient's personal beliefs and culture. One of the greatest joys of being a family medicine physician is getting to know not only the patient but his or her family members, as well. I love hearing about their relations and social lives outside of the medical clinic because I get to know the patient as a whole and also see how much their personal lives may affect their medical lives. I strive to be personable and approachable to my patients and try to keep things in a lighthearted manner.
