Philosophy of Care
I see my primary role as being a consultant to patients in their own health. I bring diagnostic and treatment expertise and provide patients with the latest information on how to achieve their personal best long-term quality of life.
I pursued a dual training program in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics because I enjoy seeing patients of all ages with common to complex diagnoses. I began medical school feeling that I would focus largely on the geriatric population, however I enjoyed my medical school pediatric rotation so much that I decided to fold pediatrics and internal medicine together. This allows me to continue to see people throughout their entire lifespan.
In addition to geriatrics, I also particularly enjoy adolescent patients, and feel that my training is well-suited to their changing lives and medical needs.
A little bit about my personal background: I grew up on a 13-acre farm in rural Northern California with my grandfather, parents and two younger brothers. I enjoyed riding my horse and swimming in our creek. I graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz, with a double major in Biology and British Literature. I then worked in Davis, California, for two years as an office manager before starting medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. I was fortunate enough to continue my training at University of California San Diego's Internal Medicine and Pediatrics program. I have been a part of PAMF since November 2010. My husband, daughter, and I enjoy our house in Scotts Valley.
