Philosophy of Care
I strive always to assess both your medical problem and address your concerns regarding those symptoms and conditions when working with you during a medical visit. My care and discussions should be clear and understandable- and put in writing whenever needed. I should partner with the patient and their family, be open and transparent with what needs to be done and be clear about what options I can offer and what is available elsewhere. If I can't help you directly, I will try to find you someone that can, whether that is another of my partners or associates, another specialty or even a different institution. If I don't think there is anything further that can our should be done, I' ll be clear about that and explain the reasons why. When I can't contribute anything medically (hopefully rare!) I can still be kind.
