Philosophy of Care
Living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area is a dream come true for me. I first resided in San Francisco in the 1980s, when I did my internship and residency at Letterman Army Medical Center on the Presidio of San Francisco. After serving for 22 years in the Army and living throughout the United States and Europe, I was fortunate enough to join the Physician Foundation at CPMC. I believe this to be the finest health care organization in the Bay Area, and I am thrilled to be working with this superb group of health care professionals.
My personal philosophy for patient care is simple: I treat my patients the way I would want my wife and children treated, with respect, compassion and dignity. There is no question which is too trivial for a thoughtful answer. If nothing else, I can at least lend a sympathetic ear to patients and families. I believe that practicing medicine is a sacred honor and privilege, not a 9 to 5 job where I punch a clock and leave my worries behind. To me, the highest praise comes when a patient says: "Thanks, doc. You really helped me..."
