Philosophy of Care
I was born in Seoul, Korea, and moved to the United States when I was eight years old. I love science and worked in research for several years before attending medical school. I attended the University of Vermont, School of Medicine, where I received a great education, and also got a chance to meet my anatomy partner, who later became my husband. After medical school, I came back to California and did my pediatric training at UCLA Medical Center and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Prior to joining PAMF, I worked as a pediatric urgent care doctor in Central California.
My goal as a physician is to stay up-to-date with medical knowledge, always keep an open mind, be attentive, and listen to my patients in order to come up with the best plan of care for each child. There are unique joys and challenges with every stage of development, from the newborn period to early adulthood. My goal is to guide families through each stage by providing useful information, reassurance, and anticipatory guidance to promote healthy habits early in life. I like to educate my patients and parents so that they can be empowered to make right decisions for their health in everyday life, and to take the fear out of the unknown.
With my research background, I tend to approach things in a methodical way to solve problems. I consider the clinical evidence while being sensitive to different cultural backgrounds. My husband and I have travelled together to volunteer for medical missions in the past. Since we had our baby boy, we have not had such opportunities. We hope to travel as a family and do more volunteer work in the future.
At PAMF, I am fortunate enough to work closely with our excellent specialists and wonderful pediatric colleagues. It is my privilege to be a medical home for your children and care for them through their normal development and through the unfortunate times of sickness. I treasure my relationships with my patients and families and I look forward to meeting you soon.
