More About this Provider:
I am originally from Costa Rica, where I had an ideal childhood living on a cofee farm. That all changed when my parents were killed. The tragedy and hardships that ensued gave me a salient perspective on the impact of death and sufering on a personal level, and cultivated my interest in medicine and surgery.
My goal is ensuring patients understand their disease and treatment options so that together we can chart the best path forward for them. This requires patience and empathy, as the gravity of their diagnoses and the effect on their families requires time for processing and refection. I am dedicated to helping patients and families navigate the uncertainty.
The world-class training I received from Stanford and MD Anderson Cancer Center as well as my experiences at Thomas Jefferson University and Sharp Healthcare have prepared me for the cognitive and technical challenges of complex operations and multi-disciplinary treatment approaches. From the diagnosis to the postoperative care and follow up, I am dedicated to walking with the patient through every step of their journey.
