Philosophy of Care
Education and understanding are the first steps to healing. I strive to educate my patients about their condition prior to discussing treatments. Likewise, I work to understand my patients and their goals for mobility, vocational, and avocational activities before collaborating with them on a care plan. The target of any orthopedic treatment, whether surgical or non-surgical, is a return to desired activities with maximal function and minimal pain. A patient knows his or her own body, lifestyle, and goals best; therefore, I believe the treatment decision is theirs to make. My job is to first inform and outline options, then use my training and expertise to deliver the highest level of care possible.
