Dr. Alford received her master's and doctorate degrees in clinical psychology, with a neuropsychology specialty and assessment proficiency certificate, at Pacific Graduate School of Psychology in Palo Alto, CA. She completed an APA-Accredited pre-doctoral internship at the University of Utah's Neuropsychiatric Institute and a two year post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at Seattle Children's Hospital in Seattle, WA.
Dr. Alford also provided regular developmental screenings for the Washington State Newborn Screening Program and the Medical Genetics program at the University of Washington's Center on Human Development and Disability. Working for the Department of the Army, she developed two behavioral health programs for military families, both a traditional clinical program and an embedded behavioral health program in the local schools. While working for the Department of Defense, Dr. Alford authored content for multiple behavioral health websites (militarykidsconnect.org, afterdeployment.org) and award winning mobile applications (Breathe2Relax, tactical breathing trainer, MoodTracker) for teaching self-care skills. Dr. Alford co-developed and taught in the graduate neuropsychology track in the Clinical Psychology doctoral program at Antioch University Seattle, WA.
Dr. Alford is the director of the Pediatric Neuropsychological Consultation Service, the training director for the neuropsychology post-doctoral fellowship and advanced practicum training programs at Sutter, and a board member of the larger community based MindGame concussion consortium.
