Kassie graduated from the University of Pennsylvania as a  Certified Nurse Midwife and Gender Related/Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner in 2019. During her midwifery education, she had the opportunity to train at a free standing birth center, as well as a high risk, high volume hospital and has now been a hospitalist midwife at Alta Bates for over a year.  She is also a Certified Breastfeeding Counselor with experience helping people breastfeed and providing lactation support.

Prior to completing her midwifery education, Kassie worked as a nurse for 4 years in high risk obstetrics and gynecology. From this experience, she learned just how much she loved not only providing care involving birth, but also gained a passion for gynecologic care.

With a deeply rooted belief in collaborative decision making, informed consent and compassionate care, Kassie is looking  forward to bringing her experience from both in and out of hospital birth to her role within SEBMG. One of her greatest joys is helping families feel empowered by their birth and their health care.

Kassie's special areas of interest include:  Breastfeeding support and care, Contraception counseling, Evidence-based low intervention birth, Gender affirming care, Sexual and reproductive healthcare
