This two-day, in-person class will help you and your birth support partner gain the knowledge and hands-on skills necessary to be confident in your birth and postpartum journey. You will learn about physiologic labor and birth, partner support techniques, pain coping options, hospital procedures, and newborn care. This unique offering combines childbirth education with newborn care into a single weekend class that includes:
- Opportunities to actively practice labor and birthing positions
- Information on hospital procedures and pain medications
- Non-pharmacological pain coping skills
- Newborn care skills, such as swaddling, baby-wearing, burping, and soothing
- A tour of a labor and delivery
