The professionals at Sutter Medical Physics Center are available to provide the following services relating to nuclear medicine:
- Conduct initial and periodic evaluations of gamma camera performance and quality control procedures on a yearly, semi-annually, or quarterly basis as required by the State of California
- Review policies and procedures to assure the safe use of radioactive materials
- Review and make recommendations on personnel radiation monitoring records
- Conduct leak testing of sealed radioactive sources
- Calibrate scintillation counting instruments and evaluate quality control procedures
- Calibrate portable radiation survey equipment
- Conduct radiation safety education seminars
- Conduct safety evaluations for the implementation of new modalities such as positron emission tomography (PET)
- Prepare radioactive material license applications and amendments
