In cases of sudden hearing loss in one or both ears, especially with vertigo, you should be seen immediately by an Ear, Nose and Throat physician as well as have a complete hearing evaluation.

There are many causes of a sudden hearing loss that can be as simple as wax in the ear canal or ear infection, or they can be as complicated as Meniere's disease. Without seeing a specialist, there is no way to diagnose and treat the problem.

I urge you to seek an appointment with an audiologist and an ear, nose and throat physician as soon as possible. Ask your primary doctor to make the referral for you.
