SACRAMENTO, Calif., June 2, 2008 - Sutter Health’s "Your Health" television show has won an Emmy® Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), Northern California Chapter. Sutter’s program, which airs in Sacramento and San Francisco, provides medical news and information monthly to about 150,000 people across Northern California. "Your Health" won the Education/Schools category.

"The 'Your Health' program is one of many ways our not-for-profit network is helping patients and communities stay up-do-date on the latest health news and medical breakthroughs," said Gordon Hunt, M.D., chief medical officer for Sutter Health. "Viewers hear the personal health experiences of real people and receive expert advice on advanced treatments and medical breakthroughs to help them take charge of their own health."

The three-time Emmy® nominated show has been broadcast for the past three years and airs monthly on KPIX in the Greater Bay Area and KCRA in the Sacramento and Central Valleys. It also links viewers to the Sutter Health/Your Health Web site – www.sutterhealthtv.com – which includes additional helpful information and receives about 3,000 visits monthly.

"From our TV show to our award-winning Web sites, I am extremely proud of the diverse approaches Sutter Health is taking to educate and enhance care for our communities," added Dr. Hunt. "Wherever you try to access information about health care and the quality of services you get from Sutter Health, we want to be sure your experience is the best it can be."

The Emmy is awarded for outstanding achievement in television by the NATAS. Northern California is one of 20 chapters awarding regional Emmy Awards. According to NATAS, more than 800 entries in 65 categories were received for this year’s competition.
